Weekly update
It’s been our last week working on the vineyard before we head to another Workaway tomorrow. We finished the grape harvest last week at the vineyard, and then we spent a few days helping with the harvest at their friend’s vineyards. We also got to do some grape stomping, which was so fun (don’t worry, we had to wash our feet in a special solution before getting in).

While not grape picking, we did day trips to the nearby towns of Viseu and Aveiro which were both lovely. There happened to be a local festival on in Aveiro when we went, complete with a street parade, marching bands and daytime fireworks made from chalk.

Our hosts also took us along to a Saturday morning Portuguese market, where we had a traditional Portuguese breakfast of pork sandwiches, roast chicken and a couple of bottles of wine. Not my usual breakfast but do as the locals do hey.
