As evidenced by the 41,000 photos in my camera roll, I love to take photos. And there are so many photos from my travels and expat adventures this year that I haven’t had the opportunity to post anywhere (did it even happen if you don’t post a pic of it online?!?). My favourite travel photos in my camera roll are the not-so-Insta-worthy ones. The random, non-aesthetic, yet more realistic images that won’t make the feed, so I’ve decided to share them here. Nap time. I wish these photos were fake but they're not. This has got to be the ugliest photo of me sleeping ever taken. Wouldn't recommend having a migraine on an 8-hour tuk tuk journey in Sri Lanka on a 38 degree day with 90% humidity.

Weekly update

We got back from our trip to Italy on Tuesday, which was so much fun! We did a loop from Milan to Lake Como, popped to Lugano in Switzerland for a couple of hours, then headed to Bergamo, Brescia, Lake Garda, Bologna, the Cinque Terre, Genoa, and then back to Milan.

The highlight had to be all the incredible food and we made sure to try the specialities of every area we visited.

We tried polenta in Bergamo (this is the only thing I wasn’t a fan to be honest), tortellini and lasagne in Bologna, focaccia and pesto in the Genoa region, plus plenty of pizza and gelato. I’ve got a full Italy food vlog coming soon!

We’re now back in Lisbon for a few days before heading to the Azores (some Portuguese islands in the Atlantic Ocean) for about 10 days.
